Albert Tumenov-Anthony Lapsley Booked for UFC Fight Night 41 in Cincinnati

A new welterweight matchup has been added to UFC Fight Night 41, as Albert Tumenov will battle Anthony Lapsley (Pictured, Above) when the UFC revisits Cincinnati this spring.

UFC officials Wednesday announced the booking, which takes place May 10 at U.S. Bank Arena. The event airs live on Fox Sports 1 and will be headlined by a 170-pound clash between heavy-handed veteran Matt Brown and Brazilian prospect Erick Silva.

Tumenov, 22, made his Octagon debut three weeks ago at UFC Fight Night 36, suffering a split decision defeat to Ildemar Alcantara to snap an eight-fight winning streak. Prior to that setback, “Einstein” had not lost since May 2011, when he was outpointed in his fifth pro bout. The prospect owns two-thirds of his victories by way of submission and has yet to be finished in 14 pro outings.

Lapsley, 34, makes his sophomore Ultimate Fighting Championship appearance as a former King of the Cage champion and Bellator tournament veteran. “The Recipe” joined the UFC last year on the strength of five consecutive wins but was bested by Jason High in his debut, dropping a unanimous decision to “The Kansas City Bandit” this past November at UFC 167.
