It didn’t take long for Alex Morono to get his next fight lined up.
Just a week after edging James Moontasri on the UFC on Fox 22 card, Morono has been booked to fight Sheldon Westcott at UFC Fight Night 104 “Korean Zombie vs. Bermudez.” The news was first reported by MMAJunkie. “The Great White” fought tooth and nail with Moontasri last Saturday, which was his second win inside the Octagon and his seventh in a row. Looking to climb up the welterweight ranks, Morono is hoping to add Westcott’s name to his resume.
Westcott, meanwhile, has been inactive for nearly a year. A finalist on “The Ultimate Fighter: Nations” where he lost to Elias Theodorou, Westcott lost to Pawel Pawlak in 2015 but rebounded with a TKO win over Edgar Garcia at UFC 195. Westcott is hoping to not only keep his winning ways alive but also be more active in 2017.
UFC Fight Night 104 will be headlined by a featherweight matchup between Dennis Bermudez and Chan Sung Jung. The action will commence inside the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, and will air first on UFC Fight Pass and then on FS1.
Alexa Grasso will take on Felice Herrig in the co-feature while Evan Dunham will look to keep his title hopes on target when he opposes Abel Trujillo. Jan Blachowicz will fight Ovince St. Preux while Curtis Blaydes will lock horns with Adam Milstead, among other bouts
