It seems the Ultimate Fighting Championship injury bug is immune to extermination.
The latest to be stung is former UFC 205-pound title challenger Alexander Gustafsson, who has suffered an undisclosed injury and will not be able to face Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night Berlin on June 20. The event takes place at Berlin’s O2 World Arena. The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the news Friday morning.
The event now has a new headliner, as women’s 115-pound champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will put her title on the line against veteran Jessica Penne.
Undefeated at 9-0, Jedrzejczyk captured the title in March with a spirited performance against Carla Esparza. Penne, 12-2, won her UFC debut against Randa Markos via split decision in December 2014.
The card will be co-headlined by Tatsuya Kawajiri (33 - 8 - 2) versus Dennis Siver (22-10).
