Alexander Gustafsson, Thiago Silva on Point for UFC on Fuel TV 2 Headliner in Stockholm

Alexander Gustafsson and Thiago Silva will square off as planned in the UFC on Fuel TV 2 headliner, as both men tipped the scales under the light heavyweight limit at Friday’s pre-fight weigh-ins.

Gustafsson checked in at 205 pounds prior to his first Octagon main event appearance, while Silva weighed 205 pounds. UFC on Fuel TV 2 marks the promotion’s inaugural trip to Sweden and takes place at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.

In addition to the aforementioned headliner, the evening’s main draw will also feature a middleweight collision between heavy-handed competitors Brian Stann (185) and Alessio Sakara (186). Meanwhile, welterweights Paulo Thiago (170) and DaMarques Johnson (171) will also see action on the Fuel TV broadcast, squaring off with Siyar Bahadurzada (170) and John Maguire (170), respectively. Additionally, featherweights Dennis Siver (*145) and Diego Nunes (146) will throw down, as will World Extreme Cagefighting veterans Brad Pickett (136) and Damacio Page (135).

Streaming live on Facebook immediately prior to the main card broadcast on Fuel TV, the undercard is highlighted by a duo of welterweight confrontations, pitting Papy Abedi (171) against James Head (170) and Simeon Thoresen (170) against Besam Yousef (170).

Also showcased on the preliminary draw, light heavyweights Cyrille Diabate (206) and Tom DeBlass (205) will lock up, while Francis Carmont (186) welcomes UFC newcomer Magnus Cedenblad (185) to the Octagon. Rounding out the prelims, Yoislandy Izquierdo (155) squares off with Reza Madadi (155), while Jason Young (145) toes the line against Eric Wisely (145) in a featherweight collision.
