Almeida-Pyle, Pellegrino-Tibau Comprise UFC 128 Facebook Stream

The
Ultimate Fighting Championship will stream preliminary bouts on
Facebook for its fifth event in a row on March 19, when two
contests from the undercard of UFC
128 “Shogun vs. Jones” are set to be broadcast via the social
networking site.
A welterweight matchup pitting Ricardo Almeida against Mike Pyle and a lightweight tilt featuring Kurt Pellegrino and Gleison Tibau make up the Facebook portion of the show, which takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. News of the stream was reported by MMAJunkie.com on Monday night.
Fans will need to “like” the organization on Facebook in order to gain access to the stream, which is expected to begin roughly two hours before the pay-per-view broadcast. Two additional undercard bouts -- Edson Barboza against Anthony Njokuani and Luis Cane versus Eliot Marshall -- will air on Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET.
New York-based Brazilian Almeida will look to make it two in a row since being choked out by Matt Hughes last August, having bested T.J. Grant via decision at UFC 124 in December. His opponent, Pyle, has won back-to-back bouts and comes off an upset decision win over previously unbeaten prospect John Hathaway at October’s UFC 120.
Fighting in his own backyard, New Jersey native Pellegrino will attempt to bounce back from his July 2010 decision loss to George Sotiropoulos; the defeat snapped a four-fight win streak for “Batman.” Tibau also enters on the heels of a loss, as the hulking American Top Team product was outpointed by Jim Miller at UFC Fight Night 22 in September.
