Anthony Johnson Not Ruling Out UFC Return 'For The Right Price'

When former Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight contender Anthony Johnson announced his retirement from the sport of MMA after his second loss to Daniel Cormier last April at UFC 210, the decision surprised many fans.

After all, “Rumble” was only 33 and had gone 6-2 since his return to the UFC, with five brutal knockouts in those six wins, and both losses coming at the hands of “DC.” Johnson was cryptic about what he would venture into after fighting, and rumors flew that he was going to try out in the National Football League or open a cannabis dispensary.

What we do know is that Johnson has continued working out and even showed off how much bigger he’d become in a recent post on Instagram.

The video excited fans, with many calling for the heavy hitter to make a return to the heavyweight division. During a recent appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, “Rumble” professed to be happy in his new pursuits, but didn’t rule out the possibility of putting on the gloves again.

“No I cannot say that. Never say never. If the right opportunity comes along, I will jump on it,” he said. “You know I am obviously not afraid to fight anybody. So if that happens and the price is right, you know sometimes people be cheap. So treat me right and I will definitely treat you right and go and give you the performance of a lifetime.”
