Anthony Perosh-Ryan Bader Slated for UFC Fight Night 33 in Australia

A light heavyweight showdown between Anthony Perosh and Ryan Bader has been booked for the UFC’s next trip to Australia.

UFC officials recently announced the pairing, which takes place at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia. UFC Fight Night 33 is headlined by a heavyweight confrontation pitting former title contender Antonio Silva against hard-hitting New Zealander Mark Hunt and will also feature a 205-pound battle between ex-UFC champ Mauricio Rua and James Te Huna.

Perosh, 41, has won four of his last five fights, with a seven-second knockout to Ryan Jimmo last year serving as his only loss in that span. “The Hippo” then returned to action this past August, scoring a 14-second knockout over the favored Vinny Magalhaes at UFC 163.

Eleven years the junior of his upcoming opponent, Bader has lost two of his last three fights, most recently falling by knockout to Glover Teixeira on Sept. 4. Prior to that defeat, “Darth” kicked off 2013 with a quick submission win over current Bellator talent Vladimir Matyushenko, tapping the former International Fight League champion with a guillotine choke in just 50 seconds this past January.
