Former UFC lightweight king Anthony Pettis recently had a brief run at 145 pounds. Now he’s considering a move up a division.

“Showtime” recently took to Instagram to propose a 170-pound clash against former title challenger Stephen Thompson. Pettis is coming off a stoppage loss to Tony Ferguson at UFC 229 in a lightweight tilt.

“Heard somebody is looking for a fight. What do you guys think?” Pettis wrote on a post accompanied by an image of himself and Thompson. “Take my talents to WW and take on the boy?”

Shortly thereafter, “Wonderboy” used his own social media account to accept the challenge.

“For the fans! If [Pettis] wants to come try out 170 y’all know I’m ready,” Thompson wrote. “We both got highlight reels, let’s do it.”

Thompson hasn’t competed since May, when he lost a controversial five-round decision to Darren Till at UFC Fight Night 130.
