Carlos Jr. has won five fights in a row in the Las Vegas-based promotion. The 28-year-old Brazilian last appeared at UFC on Fox 29, where he submitted Tim Boetsch 4:28 into the opening stanza. “Cara de Sapato” was supposed to face Derek Brunson at UFC 227 before Brunson had to pull out of the bout.
Theodorou, 30, will now get to fight in his home country. “The Spartan” has won four of his last five Octagon appearances, including a three-round verdict over Trevor Smith at UFC Fight Night 130 on May 27.
