Arlene Blencowe-Sinead Kavanagh Featherweight Clash Added to Bellator 182 in New York

Bellator MMA is continuing its push of the women's featherweight division.

Australian 145-pounder Arlene Blencowe and Ireland's Sinead Kavanagh will square off at Bellator 182 on Aug. 25 at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. The contest was first reported by Australian outlet The Western Weekender, though the promotion has yet to announce the bout officially.

Bellator 182 is headlined by a welterweight clash between former promotional champ Andrey Koreshkov and Chidi Njokuani and its main card airs live on Spike.

Blencowe, 34, recently signed a new deal with Bellator MMA after going 2-2 in her first four bouts with the promotion. A top-10 featherweight, “Angerfist” lost to Bellator MMA champion Julia Budd before the latter's eventual title win, dropping a majority decision to “The Jewel” at Bellator 162 last October. Blencowe has since rebounded with a pair of first-round stoppages, hammering Janay Harding in Australia this past January, then Rhaiannon Thompson in China in April.

Kavanagh, a product of John Kavanagh -- no relation -- at Straight Blast Gym Ireland, is coming off of her first career loss in a major upset at Bellator 173 this past February, dropping a unanimous decision to France's Iony Razafiarison despite entering the bout as a 5-to-1 favorite.
