Bantamweights Alex Caceres, Damacio Page Slated for UFC on Fuel TV 4

The UFC on Fuel TV 4 bill continues to develop, as the July 11 event now features a bantamweight bout between Alex Caceres and Damacio Page.

Promotion officials announced the contest Wednesday night. Headlined by a middleweight confrontation between NCAA All-American wrestlers Mark Munoz and Chris Weidman, UFC on Fuel TV 4 takes place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. Additionally, longtime 170-pound standout Jon Fitch welcome former middleweight talent Aaron Simpson to the welterweight division, while the hard-hitting James Te Huna takes on Brandon Vera at light heavyweight.

Caceres, 23, introduced himself to UFC fans as a lightweight cast member on “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 12 but made his official Octagon debut as a featherweight in March 2011. After suffering a pair of submission defeats at the hands of Mackens Semerzier and Jim Hettes, “Bruce Leroy” has fared better at 135 pounds, cruising to a unanimous decision over Cole Escovedo last November before falling in a split decision to hard-swinging Edwin Figueroa on Feb. 4 at UFC 143.

Page, 29, rides a three-fight skid heading into his showdown with Caceres. “The Angel of Death” competed just once in 2011, falling by submission to Brian Bowles in their rematch at UFC Live 3. Page was then expected to make his sophomore Octagon appearance last September against Kid Yamamoto, but the Jackson’s MMA representative was forced out of the bout due to injury. He returned to the cage on April 14 at UFC on Fuel TV 2, submitting to a Brad Pickett rear-naked choke in a nine-minute affair that earned “Fight of the Night” honors.
