Aljamain Sterling has received the bout he’s been seeking, as he will face Bryan Caraway at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas on May 29.
Promotion officials confirmed the bantamweight contest following an initial report from Newsday. UFC Fight Night takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center and is headlined by a 135-pound tilt between Thomas Almeida and Cody Garbrandt.
Sterling is unbeaten in 12 professional outings, including four in the UFC. He briefly tested free agency following a second-round submission of Johnny Eduardo this past December but ultimately decided to re-sign with the Las Vegas-based promotion. The Serra-Longo Fight Team member also owns triumphs over Takeya Mizugaki, Hugo Viana and Cody Gibson in the Octagon.
Caraway, meanwhile, has won three of his last four UFC appearances. Most recently, he captured a unanimous decision triumph against Eddie Wineland at UFC on Fox 16 this past July. The 31-year-old Washington native is 5-2 in the UFC overall.
