A bantamweight clash pitting Erik Perez against Francisco Rivera has been added to the UFC 201 lineup.
The promotion confirmed the pairing on Tuesday following an initial report from La Aficion. UFC 201 takes place at Philips Arena in Atlanta on July 30 and is headlined by a welterweight title fight between Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley.
Perez, 26, has alternated wins and losses in his last four bouts. Most recently, “El Goyito” outpointed Taylor Lapilus at UFC Fight Night in Monterrey, Mexico, on Nov. 21. Perez is 5-2 in UFC competition, with his two defeats coming against veteran bantamweights Bryan Caraway and Takeya Mizugaki.
Rivera has lost four of his last five in the Octagon. His only victory since 2014 came when he knocked out Alex Caceres in 21 seconds at UFC Fight Night in New Orleans. Most recently, “Cisco” dropped a split decision to Brad Pickett at UFC Fight Night in London on Feb. 27.
