Aiemann Zahabi and Ricardo Lucas Ramos will square off in a bantamweight bout at UFC 217, promotion officials announced Wednesday.
UFC 217 takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York and is headlined by a middleweight title tilt between Michael Bisping and Georges St. Pierre. A bantamweight championship clash between Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw is also rumored for the event but has not been formally announced by the UFC.
Ramos improved to 10-1 as a professional with a unanimous decision victory against Michinori Tanaka in his initial Octagon foray at UFC Fight Night 104 on Feb. 4. The 22-year-old Sao Paulo native has finished six of his wins by submission and two via technical knockout.
Zahabi, the younger brother of Tristar Gym trainer Firas Zahabi, made his Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 105, where he outpointed Reginaldo Vieira on Feb. 19. The 29-year-old Quebec native is 7-0 as a professional, with six triumphs coming inside the distance.
