The Bellator 108 main event was made official on Thursday, as both Quinton Jackson and Joey Beltran were cleared to compete in Friday’s main event.
“Rampage” tipped the scales at 210 pounds, while Beltran checked in slightly lighter at 208.5 pounds ahead of their catch-weight bout. Jackson was initially supposed to make his Bellator debut on pay-per-view earlier this month against Tito Ortiz, but that booking was scrapped when “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” suffered a neck injury. Beltran, meanwhile, returns to Bellator MMA on the heels of his October UFC release.
Bellator 108 takes place at Revel in Atlantic City, N.J., and will also see Alexander Volkov (235) defend his heavyweight title against fellow Russian Vitaly Minakov (249) in the co-main event. The evening’s Spike TV-broadcast main draw will feature the Season 9 featherweight tournament final between Patricio Freire (145.8) and Justin Wilcox (145.5), as well as a bantamweight showdown pitting ex-title challenger Marcos Galvao (135.9) against Tom McKenna (135.3).
Prior to the televised card, the Bellator 108 prelims will stream live on Spike.com, highlighted by a light heavyweight pairing between UFC veterans Tom DeBlass (204.5) and Jason Lambert (203.5).
