Bellator 132 Salaries: Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Earns Event-High $70K for Title Bout Victory

Patricio Freire and Daniel Straus were the main attractions of Bellator 132, and they also went home with the largest paychecks.

The California State Athletic Commission disclosed the card’s payroll information to ahead of Friday’s event at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif.

Featherweight champion “Pitbull” pocketed $70,000 for his fourth round submission victory over Straus, who took home $30,000 in defeat. After three closely-contested frames, Freire made his opponent tap to a rear-naked choke 4:49 into the fourth stanza.

Other notable potential salaries on the card included Georgi Karakhanyan, who garnered $30,000 for his first-round technical submission triumph against Bubba Jenkins ($15,000) in the evening's co-main event. Additionally, Virgil Zwicker earned $16,000 for his split-decision victory over former UFC fighter Houston Alexander ($10,000).
