Bellator 150 Weigh-in Results: Cheick Kongo, Vinicius ‘Spartan’ Cleared for Headliner

The spotlight will shine on the heavyweights now that an unspecified illness to bantamweight champion Marcos Galvao has robbed Bellator MMA of its latest headliner and left Nova Uniao dynamo without a dance partner.

Cheick Kongo checked in at 235.2 pounds for his clash with fellow Ultimate Fighting Championship washout Vinicius Kappke de Queiroz (233.6) in the makeshift Bellator 150 main event on Friday at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas. Lightweight co-headliners David Rickels (156) and Bobby Cooper (155.8) also met their mandated weight requirements at Thursday’s official weigh-in.

Bellator 150 -- which airs on Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT -- will also feature a middleweight battle pitting “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 3 winner Kendall Grove (186) against Francisco France (185.4), a featherweight tilt matching Chuka Willis (146) with the unbeaten Gaston Reyno (143.6) and a women’s flyweight scrap pairing Lena Ovchynnikova (124.6) opposite Rebecca Ruth (125.2).
