Bellator 157 ‘Dynamite 2’ Weigh-in Results: ‘Rampage,’ Ishii Cleared to Scrap

Bellator MMA is bringing another monster of a card to fight fans across the globe Friday night, this time at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo. Bellator: Dynamite 2 will combine the promotion’s traditional MMA fireworks with its new Bellator Kickboxing branch (Bellator: Dynamite last years was in conjunction with Glory kickboxing).

The marquee will be anchored by former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson taking on tough Japanese brawler Satoshi Ishii while the co-featured bout will see Michael Chandler standing opposite Patricky Freire for the vacant lightweight championship.

At Thursday’s weigh-ins, all of the main card fighters came in like true professionals, all coming in at or under the maximum weight limits. Ishii was the first to step to the scale and he nailed it, coming in officially at 222.8 pounds. “Rampage,” meanwhile, looked as fierce as ever, tipping the scale at 224.9 pounds.

Chandler, the former 155-pound champ for Bellator, already holds a win over “Pitbull” and expects to do the same Friday night. “Iron” Michael clocked in at 154.7 pounds while his Brazilian counterpart checked in at 155.

The Bellator Kickboxing portion of the event is headlined by a rematch between longtime Muay Thai fighter Joe Schilling and Japanese bomber Hisaki Kato. “Stitch ‘Em Up” came in as ready as ever and weighed 185 pounds. Kato, who scored a shocking second-round knockout of Schilling at Bellator 139 a year ago, came in at 184.9 pounds.

Bellator: Dynamite 2 will be televised live on Spike starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT and will be immediately followed by the live broadcast of Bellator Kickboxing.
