California-based promotion Bellator MMA returns to Europe on Saturday with a card loaded with intriguing matchups. Bellator 158 will held at the O2 in London and will be anchored by the welterweight showdown between knockout artists Paul Daley and Douglas Lima.
Lima was supposed to defend his Bellator welterweight title against Daley at Bellator 134 last year -- before he lost his title to Andrey Koreshkov -- and when he stepped to the scale, he nailed it. The Brazilian came in officially at 170.8 pounds.
Daley, meanwhile, has been in the thick of the title hunt for what seems like ages. He knows a win over Lima would do wonders for his chances at Bellator gold and “Semtex” didn’t miss a beat. The Englishman tipped the scale at 170.8 pounds.
Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran and former NFL player Matt Mitrione will make his second promotional appearance in the co-featured slot against former Strongman champion Oli Thompson. Both men looked massive but they were able to come in on point. Thompson checked in at 234.8 pounds while Mitrione came in at 256.5.
Spike will televise the Bellator 158 main card via delay in America at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT while in the U.K., Spike UK will air the violence live at 9 – 10 p.m. BST and Channel 5 from 10 p.m. to midnight.
