The Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., is the site for Friday’s massive Bellator 160 card and at Thursday’s weigh-ins, every fighter on the main card was able to come in on point, clearing the way for the event to go down as planned.
Bellator 160 will be anchored by an intriguing lightweight showdown between former Bellator featherweight champion Patricio Freire and former WEC and UFC 155-pound king Benson Henderson. It’s a pivotal duel for “Smooth” Benson because of how dreadful his Bellator MMA debut was back in April and it’s also crucial for “Pitbull” as well because a win over Henderson would be the biggest one of his career.
At the scales, both men came in on the money. The Brazilian stepped onto the scale and nailed it, weighing in officially at (155.4) pounds. Henderson, meanwhile, was equally on point; he clocked in at (156) pounds.
The co-feature will see Saad Awad taking on Derek Anderson in a lightweight battle as well. Like the main event combatants, both Awad and Derek were in the clear. Awad tipped the scale at (155.5) pounds while Anderson clocked in at (155.6).
Bellator 160 will be televised live on Spike starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. The prelims will be streamed live on Bellator.com starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
