Three preliminary contests have been announced for Bellator 161, including a featherweight bout pitting UFC veteran Daniel Pineda against Mark Dickman.
Additionally, Kenya Miranda da Silva will face Emily Ducote at flyweight, while Francisco France meets Gregory Babene at middleweight. Bellator 161 takes place at the HEB Center in Cedar Park, Texas, on Sept. 16 and is headlined by a heavyweight clash between Cheick Kongo and Tony Johnson. The main card airs on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, while the preliminary card will stream on Bellator.com.
After a three-fight winning streak in Legacy Fighting Championship, Pineda lost a split decision to Emmanuel Sanchez at Bellator 149 on Feb. 19. The 31-year-old Texan went 3-4 during a seven-fight stint in the UFC that included wins over Justin Lawrence, Mackens Semerzier and Pat Schilling.
A five-time competitor in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance promotion, Dickman made his Bellator debut on May 14, earning a third-round techical knockout victory over Ousmane Thomas Diagne. Dickman is 11-2 as a professional with 10 victories coming inside the distance.
