Bellator 163 Weigh-in Results: Liam McGeary, Phil Davis Cleared for Title Tilt

By Mike Sloan Nov 3, 2016

After more than a year off, Bellator MMA light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary is finally set to return to action and defend his crown. In the main event of Bellator 163 (online betting) on Friday, the Englishman will take on Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Phil Davis.

McGeary hasn’t fought since he submitted longtime veteran and former UFC champ Tito Ortiz in the first frame at Bellator 142 last September. He has yet to lose as a pro and Davis, a powerful American wrestler, is expected to give him the toughest test of his career. At the scales, “Mr. Wonderful” clocked in at 204 pounds while McGeary matched that tally at 204.

The co-feature will see popular welterweights Saad Awad and Brennan Ward slug it out over three rounds. Both men tipped the scales right on the money: Ward came in at 170.5 while Awad clocked in at 170.25.

Bellator 163 will air live on Spike beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, with the prelims streaming live on at 6:50 p.m. ET.
