Eduardo Dantas will have a new opponent for his bantamweight title defense at Bellator 177.

Sherdog.com confirmed with a promotion official on Tuesday that Dantas will face Leandro Higo at the April 14 event in Budapest after original foe Darrion Caldwell withdrew from the contest with an undisclosed injury. ">MMAFighting.com first reported the change.

Meanwhile, two new bouts have been added to card, which takes place at Budapest Sports Arena. Former featherweight title challenger Daniel Weichel will face John Teixeira da Conceicao, while Lena Ovchynnikova will square off against Helen Harper at 125 pounds.

Higo, the former Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Legacy Fighting Alliance 135-pound king, enters the matchup on an eight-fight winning streak. In his last outing, the 28-year-old Brazilian captured the vacant LFA strap with a five-round verdict over Steven Peterson on Jan. 13.

Weichel has won three straight fights since falling to Patricio Freire in a 145-pound title bid at Bellator 138. Teixeira is unbeaten in five appearances under the Bellator MMA banner, including a decision triumph over Justin Lawrence in his most recent bout.

Ovchynnikova is coming off a unanimous decision triumph over Karla Benitez at Bellator 164 this past November. Harper will enter her promotional debut with a 4-1 record.
