Bellator 194 Medical Suspensions: Liam McGeary Sidelined Indefinitely Due to Left Knee Injury

Vadim Nemkov did a number on Liam McGeary’s leg at Bellator 194.

The former Bellator light heavyweight champion is facing an indefinite medical suspension after succumbing to Nemkov’s leg kicks 4:20 into the third round of their bout on Friday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. McGeary must be cleared by an orthopedist before he can compete again due to a possible left knee injury, but he will be sidelined a minimum of 90 days regardless. Nemkov, meanwhile, was handed a 45-day sit due to a contusion.

The Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation released medical suspensions from Bellator 194 to MMAjunkie.com on Monday.

Meanwhile, co-main event competitor Derek Campos is also facing an indefinite suspension following a first-round knockout loss to Patricky Freire in a lightweight rematch. Campos must be cleared by a neurologist and a maxillofacial doctor (due to a possible orbital fracture) before he can return to action.

Tom English: suspended 60 days and needs neurological clearance for precautionary reasons

Peter Nascimento: suspended 30 days for precautionary reasons

Tyler Hamilton: suspended indefinitely until cleared by an orthopedist due to a left MCL strain; even if cleared, suspended 90 days
