Overall viewership for Bellator 44 rose 77 percent from the season average; the show scored nearly double the 182,000 viewers who tuned in to the previous week’s Bellator 43. The second-highest rated event of the season came in week two, when Bellator 36 pulled 230,000 sets of eyes.
Bellator 44 emanated from Caesars Atlantic City Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., and was headlined by the company’s third lightweight tournament final, which saw unbeaten Michael Chandler take a three-round unanimous decision over Brazilian knockout artist Patricky “Pitbull” Freire. Bellator 45, which marks the end of the promotion’s fourth season, airs live on MTV2 this Saturday, May 21.
