Seven new fights have been added to the Bellator 87 undercard, promotion officials announced Tuesday.
Eleven total fights are now set for the Jan. 31 event, which takes place at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
The evening’s main card airs live on Spike TV and features the quarterfinals of the Season 8 lightweight tournament. The show is topped by two-time tournament vet Patricky “Pitbull” Freire, who squares off with Guillaume DeLorenzi in the main event.
Immediately prior, the preliminary card will stream live on Spike.com, highlighted by a lightweight contest between onetime Strikeforce talent Saad Awad (Pictured, left) and once-beaten competitor Jason Fischer. Two more 155-pound duels are also on tap for the undercard stream, as J.P. Reese and John Schulz take on David Shepherd and Amir Khillah, respectively. Additionally, welterweights Samuel Quito and Ben Lagman will square off, as will featherweights Cody James Stamann and Justin Houghton. Rounding out the bill will be a heavyweight clash between Jason Fish and Karl Etherington and a bantamweight showdown pitting Nick Kirk against Tony Zelinski.
