Eduardo Dantas will defend his Bellator bantamweight title for the first time Thursday night, as both “Dudu” and challenger Marcos Galvao were cleared to competed at Wednesday’s Bellator 89 weigh-ins.
Bellator 89 takes place at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C., and will see Mikkel Parlo (185.7) and Sultan Aliev (185.5) square off in a battle of undefeated talents, while tournament veterans Andreas Spang (186.0) and Brian Rogers (186.0) face Doug Marshall (185.5) and Dan Cramer (185.9), respectively. Rounding out the middleweight tournament field will be former welterweight competitor Brett Cooper (185.2), who meets French talent Norman Paraisy (185.8).
