Bellator ‘Dynamite’ Card Adds Glory Light Heavyweight Championship

Bellator MMA already had the fight world’s attention leading up to their historic Bellator MMA “Dynamite” event, but the promotion announced another intriguing battle to the marquee: the Glory light heavyweight championship between Zack Mwekassa and Saulo Cavalari.

The clash between Mwekassa and Cavalari will headline the Glory portion of the card, which will take place in the Glory kickboxing ring next to the Bellator MMA cage. “The Black Warrior” Mwekassa will look to for revenge against the last man to beat him in what is expected to be an action-packed brawl between two ruthless knockout artists. Cavalari knocked Mwekassa out in the third round with a high kick when they fought at Glory 18 last November.

The Glory title bout joins the previously announced fight card, which will feature former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz taking on Bellator’s reigning king at 205 pounds, Liam McGeary, in the main slot. Also on the bill is the Bellator four-man, one-night light heavyweight tournament to determine the No. 1 contender in the division that includes the promotional debut of Phil Davis, Emanuel Newton, Linton Vassell and Muhammed Lawal.

Bellator and Glory will announce more fights in the coming weeks.

Bellator 142: Dynamite will be held inside the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., and will air live on Spike TV starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. Tickets to the event are on sale now and start at $30.
