Bellator Inks Unbeaten Welterweight Prospect Lozano

Bellator Fighting Championships on Tuesday announced the acquisition of undefeated welterweight prospect Chris Lozano. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lozano, who holds the North American Allied Fight Series welterweight championship, has finished each of his first five opponents, four of them inside one round. The 27-year-old last appeared in June, when he stopped UFC veteran Jason Dent on a fourth-round technical knockout at NAAFS “Fight Nite in the Flats VI.”

“Chris brings proven knockout power to the welterweight division,” Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney said in a release. “He’s a big welterweight that has tremendous potential to accomplish great things in Bellator at 170 pounds.”

Lozano trains alongside UFC veteran Forrest Petz with the Strong Style Fight Team in Cleveland, Ohio. He sees Bellator as a golden opportunity to further his career.

“Fighting for an organization like Bellator is a dream come true,” he said. “To finally get a chance to compete amongst the best in the world is something I have spent my entire life focusing on and dreaming of.”
