Bellator MMA on Monday announced the addition of another Glory kickboxing bout to this week’s “Dynamite” event, as Serhiy Adamchuck will face Anvar Boynazarov in a featherweight match.
The fight card for “Dynamite” now stands at a whopping 21 fights, with 16 MMA bouts set to be contested inside the Bellator cage and five kickboxing matches set for the adjacent Glory ring. The Spike TV-broadcast main card will feature five bouts of MMA and three of kickboxing.
“Dynamite” takes place this Saturday, Sept. 19, at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. The evening’s main event will see Bellator light heavyweight titlist Liam McGeary risk his belt for the first time against onetime UFC champion Tito Ortiz. The next contender for the belt will be decided on the same card when Phil Davis, Muhammed Lawal, Emanuel Newton and Linton Vassell take part in a one-night, four-man tournament.
The newly announced kickboxing bout will serve to determine the No. 1 contender to the Glory featherweight title. Adamchuck won his short-notice Glory debut in June and was set to fight for the belt this week before champion Gabriel Varga suffered a training injury. Replacement opponent Boynazarov made his Glory debut on Aug. 7 in Las Vegas, where he took a decision over Georgian prospect Giga Chikadze.
