Dakota Cochrane has been released by Bellator MMA after two losses within the Scott Coker-led promotion.
A Bellator official confirmed Cochrane’s release with Sherdog.com on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old Nebraskan lost to Ryan Couture via first-round rear-naked choke at Bellator 135 last Friday. He debuted with the organization on short notice last October, tapping to an Alexander Sarnavskiy rear-naked choke 2:32 into the opening frame at Bellator 128. Cochrane has lost three of his last four fights overall.
The Premier Combat Center product gained notoriety during his brief stint on “The Ultimate Fighter 15,” when it first came to light that Cochrane worked in gay pornography while he was in college. Cochrane didn’t make it far on the reality show, however, as he lost to James Vick in the preliminary round.
Cochrane is 18-8 as a professional, with notable wins over Jamie Varner, Joe Stevenson and Efrain Escudero.
