Bellator Returns to Canada with Bellator 67 on May 4 at Casino Rama in Ontario
Bellator Fighting Championships make at least two Canadian
appearances in Season 6, as the Chicago-based promotion Thursday
announced that
Bellator 67 will take place at Casino Rama in Rama,
Ontario.
The May 4 event marks the promotion’s third overall event held at Casino Rama and will serve as Bellator’s second trip to Ontario in 2012 following Bellator 64 on April 6 at Caesars Windsor.
No bouts have yet been announced for Bellator 67, but it is expected to feature semifinal contests from one of the five planned Season 6 tournaments. As per usual, the show will air live on MTV2 and Epix in standard and high definition, respectively.
Bellator made its Canadian debut during last year’s Summer Series, showcasing the featherweight tournament semifinals at Bellator 47. Pat Curran and Marlon Sandro both earned unanimous decisions at the event, and Curran knocked out the Brazilian one month later at Bellator 48 to become No. 1 contender for Joe Warren’s featherweight strap.
Curran’s title bid kicks off Season 6 at Bellator 60 on March 9. Also featured at the event will be the upcoming featherweight tournament quarterfinals, featuring Marlon Sandro, Ronnie Mann, Wagnney Fabiano and Daniel Straus, among others.
