Pride Fighting Championships veteran Daniel Gracie will make his promotional debut when he collides with the unbeaten Tim Carpenter in the Bellator Fighting Championships Season 4 light heavyweight tournament quarterfinals at Bellator 38 on Saturday at the Harrah’s Casino Tunica Event Center in Robinsonville, Miss.

Gracie (205.2) and Carpenter (205) met their contracted weights at Friday’s official weigh-in, along with the participants in the three other quarterfinal matchups: D.J. Linderman (205.6) vs. Raphael Davis (205.2), Richard Hale (204.6) vs. Nik Fekete (205.4) and Chris Davis (204.4) vs. Christian M'Pumbu (200.6).

A two-time Mundials champion, Gracie holds a fourth-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He last appeared under the Israel Fighting Championship banner in November, when he returned from a four-year hiatus to submit Martin Wojcik with a first-round rear-naked choke at the Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv, Israel. Gracie, a bronze medalist at the 2005 Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championships, has secured four of his five career MMA victories by submission.

Carpenter made his company debut at Bellator 33 in October, when he eked out a split decision over International Fight League alum Jamal Patterson at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia. Undefeated in six professional outings, the 30-year-old BJJ black belt trains out of Balance Studios in the City of Brotherly Love. Carpenter’s last three fights have reached the judges.

Bellator 38 will air on MTV2 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
