Bermudez vs. Fili, Bektic vs. Castro Set for UFC on Fox 27 in Charlotte

A pair of featherweight matchups have been booked for UFC on Fox 27, as Dennis Bermudez will square off against Andre Fili, and Mirsad Bektic will lock horns with Godofredo Castro.

The bouts were reported by the Charlotte Observer on Wednesday, as was a welterweight tilt pitting Niko Price against George Sullivan. UFC on Fox 27 takes place at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C., on Jan. 27 and is headlined by a middleweight rematch between Ronaldo Souza and Derek Brunson.

Bermudez went 0-2 during his 2017 campaign, falling to Darren Elkins via split decision at UFC on Fox 25 and losing to Chan Sung Jung via first-round knockout at UFC Fight Night 104. Fili has alternated wins and losses throughout his nine-bout promotional tenure and is coming off a unanimous verdict over Artem Lobov at UFC Fight Night 118 on Oct. 21.

Bektic suffered the first defeat of his professional career at UFC 209, when Darren Elkins rallied for a third-round knockout victory over the American Top Team prospect. Castro is 5-5 in the Octagon, including a decision loss to Shane Burgos in his last outing at UFC on Fox 25.
