The UFC has tabbed IFL veteran
Tim Boetsch (Pictures) to replace the injured
Tomasz Drwal (Pictures) against
David Heath (Pictures) in a 205-pound bout scheduled for Feb. 2 in Las Vegas.
Zuffa confirmed Monday that the 26-year-old Drwal had sustained a knee injury in training. It was expected that the Feb. 2 event would proceed with only eight bouts, but the UFC announced Tuesday that Boetsch had been slotted in against the Oklahoma native.
Boetsch, 26, won his first six MMA bouts before tasting defeat in his last outing, a commanding unanimous decision loss to IFL champion
Vladimir Matyushenko (Pictures).
The 31-year-old Heath has lost his last two outings, both in the Octagon. Last April, he dropped a lackluster and lopsided decision to
Lyoto Machida (Pictures), and in August he was badly bloodied and choked out in controversial fashion by Renato "Babalu" Sobral.
