Tim Boetsch (Pictures) will again play the role of replacement for the UFC, as he will step into an April 2 bout with
Matt Hamill (Pictures).
Stephan Bonnar (Pictures) was forced out of his scheduled fight with Hamill as part of the UFC's April 2 Fight Night card in Broomfield, Colo., due to a complete tear of the lateral collateral ligament in his left knee, which is anticipated to sideline him for at least six months.
Now Boetsch has been tabbed as Bonnar's replacement for the card, according to a report by MMAWeekly.com.
Boetsch, 27, made his UFC debut when he stepped in for the injured
Tomasz Drwal (Pictures) to face
David Heath (Pictures) on the UFC's Feb. 2 card in Las Vegas. Boetsch won the bout via stoppage due to strikes late in the first round.
The original Bonnar-Hamill bout was slated to be a part of the live Spike TV telecast of the April 2 event, however, it is unknown at this point whether the Boetsch-Hamill fight will maintain its spot on the live card.
