Boxing: Thomas Williams vs. Umberto Savigne Added to PBC on Spike Card
Premier Boxing Champions will stage a “PBC on Spike” card overflowing with light heavyweights Nov. 13 at Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Miss.
PBC on Wednesday announced that Thomas Williams will meet Umberto Savigne in the televised opener of the event, which starts at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The battle will be a 10-rounder at 175 pounds, while the headliner pits fellow light heavies Edwin Rodriguez (27-1, 18 KOs) and Michael Seals (19-0, 14 KOs) against each other.

“I feel completely rejuvenated heading into this fight,” Williams stated in a release. “I’ve been able to get back to the things I’ve done in camp since early in my career. I have seen my opponent and I’m planning on picking him apart. I will be victorious when I leave the ring.”
Savigne (12-2, 9 KOs), a Cuban defector now residing in Miami, holds knockout wins over former super middleweight world champion Jeff Lacy and Richard Hall, who challenged Roy Jones Jr. for the undisputed light heavyweight crown. However, Savigne is coming off a second-round knockout loss at the hands of unbeaten contender Craig Baker in February.
“I’m feeling 100 percent and have had a great training camp,” Savigne stated. “I’m working hard and come Nov. 13, it’s going to be a dominant Umberto Savigne. I don’t want to make any predictions, but I’m coming for the victory.”
