Boxing: Undefeated KO Artist Julius Jackson to Face Jose Uzcategui on Oct. 6

Premier Boxing Champions and Fox Sports 1 announced Thursday afternoon that the main event of their Oct. 6 “Toe-To-Toe Tuesdays” card will be Julius Jackson taking on Jose Uzcategui. The fight will anchor the event, which will take place inside the Dancehall in San Antonio, Texas and will be televised live starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Jackson (19-0, 15 KOs) is among the best young contenders in the super middleweight division. He’s been feasting on the typical regional talent up to this point, but he most recently looked terrific in clubbing Jonathan Nelson out in the ninth last December. The son of the great Julian Jackson, Julius was a 2008 Olympian for his native Virgin Islands and expects to conquer Uzcategui on his way to the top.

"With my father being who he is, my dream has always been to reach this level and then surpass this level," said Jackson. "I'm working extremely hard for this opportunity and I'm ready for my shot."

As for Uzcategui, the Venezuelan has looked equally as impressive thus far into his still-blossoming career. Though he lost via decision to unbeaten Matt Korobov last June, Uzcategui (23-1, 19 KOs) has been laying waste to everybody, mostly in his adopted homeland of Mexico.

"I'm so excited for an opportunity to fight in the U.S. again and I plan on making the most of it," said Uzcategui. "I will leave everything in the ring and give the fans a great show in San Antonio."

A full undercard and co-main event will be announced soon.
