Boxing: Zab Judah Comeback Fight Canceled Again

Former multiple-division boxing world champion Zab Judah will have to wait even longer to make his return to the ring.

Judah was set to fight Josh Torres on Saturday night at Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, but the entire card has been canceled. Sherdog.com on Friday received notice of the event’s cancellation, which stemmed from one or more fighters reportedly being ineligible to compete on the CBS Sports Network-broadcast show.

“Last night, I received multiple calls from the Nevada Athletic Commission regarding eligibility concerns,” said Derek Stevens, CEO of the D Las Vegas and DLVEC in an email statement. “After our discussions, it became apparent the fight card could not move forward. Although I’m disappointed with the situation, I appreciate the phone calls and look forward to working with the Nevada Athletic Commission on future boxing events at the DLVEC.”

Details regarding which fighters encountered ineligibility problems, and specifics of those problems, were not immediately available. Ticket-holders from the event will receive a full refund.
