Brandon Thatch’s return to the Octagon will have to wait, as the welterweight prospect has withdrawn from a proposed matchup with Jordan Mein at UFC Fight Night on Aug. 23.
Thatch tweeted on Saturday that a compound fracture in his toe forced him to pull out of the contest. Thatch was originally an injury replacement for Thiago Alves. The UFC has yet to announce if Mein will receive a new opponent.

The 29-year-old Thatch last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Belfort vs. Henderson” on Nov. 9, when he scored a first-round knockout over Paulo Thiago. The Elevation Fight Team product has finished all 11 of his professional victories -- including Justin Edwards in his promotional debut -- inside of a round.
