Brawler's Future Not in PFC

Kevin Ferguson (Pictures), who fought under the name Kimbo Slice in street fights that were taped and sold on the Internet, will not meet David "Tank" Abbott, himself a reputed "street fighter," in the Palace Fighting Championship, Sherdog.com was told Wednesday evening.

Earlier in the day through Christian Printup, the Tachai Palace Hotel & Casino Entertainment Director, PFC offered a deal to the fighters' management teams that he said would have paid out a six-figure purse to the winner.

Slice's management declined the deal because their fighter had committed elsewhere, Printup said. He would not comment as to with whom Slice had signed.

Other suitors were believed to include the Showtime-televised EliteXC as well as Canada's Hardcore Championship Fighting.

When contacted about Slice's status, EliteXC vice president Jared Shaw declined to comment on the record. HCF president Keith Crawford did not reply right away to a request for an update on Slice.

"We gave it our best and trust me when I say we will keep pushing, keep the big guys on their toes and we will eventually settle into the role of 'best small-to medium' sized show in the U.S.," Printup said of the PFC, which returns Oct. 18 at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, Calif. "I have no doubts."
