On the heels of the announcement the UFC had signed welterweight
Charlie Brenneman to a four-fight deal, “The Spaniard” will face
Jason High (pictured left) at UFC Fight Night 21 on March 31 at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C. High confirmed the bout via his twitter account on Thursday.
Brenneman hails from the AMA Fight Club, which also produced UFC standouts
Frankie Edgar and
Dan Miller. The 29-year-old fighter’s only career loss came against UFC veteran
John Howard at Ring of Combat 21 in September 2008.
High earned a split decision over
Andre Galvao during Dream's welterweight grand prix last July. He was stopped by tournament winner
Marius Zaromskis later that same night in the tournament’s final.
UFC Fight Night 21 will be headlined by a lightweight bout between
Kenny Florian and
Takanori Gomi, along with a co-main heavyweight tilt between
Roy Nelson and
Stefan Struve.
