A planned UFC 175 meeting between Bruno Santos and Chris Camozzi has been scrapped due to injury.

UFC officials announced Thursday that Santos was forced to withdraw from the matchup. Instead, Camozzi will now face Strikeforce veteran Trevor Smith at the July 5 event, which takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Smith, 33, has lost three of his last four bouts, most recently suffering a technical knockout loss to Thales Leites last month at UFC Fight Night “Minotauro vs. Nelson.” Prior to that setback, Smith kicked off 2014 with a victory, edging Brian Houston via split decision on Jan. 15.

Camozzi, 27, saw a four-fight winning streak halted one year ago, when he was submitted by onetime Strikeforce champion Ronaldo Souza at UFC on FX 8. The 26-fight pro then returned to the Octagon last November, coming up short in a bloody stand-up battle with Lorenz Larkin at “Fight for the Troops 3.”
