Featherweight prospects Bubba Jenkins and Goiti Yamauchi will collide at Bellator 151.
A promotion official confirmed the bout with Sherdog.com following an initial report from MMAFighting. Bellator 151 takes place at the Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla., on March 4 and is headlined by a bantamweight duel pitting Joe Warren against Darrion Caldwell. The evening’s main card airs on Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.
The 27-year-old Jenkins has won seven of his nine Bellator appearances, including back-to-back triumphs over Jordan Parsons and Joe Wilk in his last two outings. The California native is 10-2 as a professional, with seven wins by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
Yamauchi, 23, carries a three-fight winning streak into the bout with Jenkins. After outpointing Mike Richman at Bellator 120, the Japanese fighter has scored consecutive rear-naked choke triumphs over Martin Stapleton and Isao Kobayashi. Yamauchi is 19-2 in his career overall, including 15 wins via tapout.
