A middleweight showdown between C.B. Dollaway and Francis Carmont will serve as the UFC Fight Night 42 co-headliner, Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced Friday.
UFC Fight Night 42 is headlined by a pivotal 185-pound clash pitting Mark Munoz against former Strikeforce light heavyweight champ Gegard Mousasi and takes place May 31 at O2 World in Berlin, Germany. The event streams live on UFC Fight Pass and will also see “Ultimate Fighter 17” alum Luke Barnatt collide with fellow unbeaten prospect Sean Strickland.
Dollaway, 30, has won three of his last four, with his only loss in that span coming in a controversial split decision defeat to Tim Boetsch last October. “The Doberman” rebounded from the setback in his most recent outing, scoring a 39-second knockout of Cezar Ferreira this past Saturday at UFC Fight Night 39.
Carmont, 32, saw an 11-fight winning streak halted in his last outing, as former Strikeforce champion Ronaldo Souza outpointed the Frenchman last month at UFC Fight Night 36. Carmont began his UFC career with six straight victories, besting the likes of Chris Camozzi, Tom Lawlor and Costas Philippou before stumbling against “Jacare.”
