CSAC Flags Levens for Banned Painkiller

UFC and World Extreme Cagefighting veteran Justin Levens (Pictures) tested positive for the banned narcotic painkiller Oxymorphone in advance of his scheduled bout with Ray Lazama at Affliction “Banned” on July 19 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., according to a report released Tuesday by the California State Athletic Commission.

The CSAC levied a 1,000-dollar fine and six-month suspension against Levens (9-8), who, interestingly enough, did not even compete at “Banned.” His match against Lazama was cancelled due to time constraints, though both fighters were paid by the promotion.

Levens -- who has lost five consecutive fights and eight of his last 10 -- has not competed since he submitted to a Kenny Ento (Pictures) triangle choke at a Palace Fighting Championship show in October. The 28-year-old Philadelphia native has survived the first round only once in his past four bouts and has not tasted victory since November 2006.
