CSAC Upholds Suspensions for Three Fighters
The California State Athletic Commission on Tuesday upheld the
suspensions and fines of three mixed martial artists who tested
positive for drugs of abuse and performance enhancement.
Jason Winther's 21-month suspension (12 for anabolic agents and nine for drugs of abuse) and $4,000 fine were upheld. Winther tested positive for a combination of methadone and morphine following a Nov. 3 bout in Placerville, Calif. Additional suspension time and fines were imposed when the fighter's steroid test came back positive for stanozolol and trenbolone.
Dennis Hallman (Pictures) failed to appear at Tuesday's hearing. His appeal of a one-year suspension and $2,500 fine was denied. The veteran fighter tested positive for two types of anabolic agents following a Nov. 16 bout in Strikeforce.
Also suspended following the Nov. 16 card in San Jose, Calif., Alexander Crispim's one-year penalty and $2,500 fine for steroids went unchanged.
