Cage Warriors 84 Weigh-ins: Nathaniel Wood, Marko Kovacevic Set for Bantamweight Title

By Mike Sloan Jun 1, 2017
Cage Warriors 84 takes place Friday night at Indigo at the O2 in London, England, and anchoring the entire event is an intriguing matchup for the vacant Cage Warriors Fighting Championship bantamweight title. Nathaniel Wood will lock horns with Marko Kovacevic for the gold and at Thursday’s official weigh-ins, both men hit their marks.

Kovacevic, a submission savant from Switzerland, was the first to step onto the scale and he nailed it. Kovacevic came in at 134.6 pounds, as did foe Wood, who is aiming to become the first London native to capture a Cage Warriors world title. It must be noted, however, that Wood initially weighed 135.5 pounds and had to shed the extra baggage to hit 134.6.

The co-feature will see light heavyweights Norman Paraisy and Kenneth Bergh go head-to-head. Both men were also right on par at the scale: Paraisy came in at 197.6 pounds while Bergh was heavier at 204.9.

In some unfortunate news, both Bola Omoyele and Marcus Paul failed to be medically cleared earlier in the morning and their respective contests against Lee Chadwick and Martyn Harris had to be scrapped from the marquee.

Cage Warriors 84 will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
