Cards Announced for Upcoming UFCs
Lineups for the next two UFC pay-per-view events were made official
Monday.
Joining the highly-anticipated March 1 UFC middleweight title fight in Columbus, Ohio, between champion Anderson Silva and challenger Dan Henderson (Pictures) are four main card attractions featuring recognizable names across three weight divisions.
Cheick Kongo (Pictures) fights Heath Herring (Pictures) in a heavyweight bout. Middleweight Yushin Okami (Pictures) returns to the Octagon against veteran Evan Tanner (Pictures). Welterweight contender Jon Fitch (Pictures) fights UFC newcomer Chris Wilson. And popular 170-pound fighter Diego Sanchez (Pictures) faces Sweden's David Bielkheden (Pictures).
On the undercard at Nationwide Arena, former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski (Pictures) fights Jake O'Brien (Pictures), who returns after a career-threatening neck injury. Also, Luke Cummo (Pictures) clashes with Luigi Fioravanti (Pictures); Josh Koscheck (Pictures) meets Dustin Hazelett (Pictures); and Jorge Gurgel (Pictures) battles John Halverson in a lightweight tilt.
In Montreal on Monday, the bout sheet for its April 19 debut event in Canada was also made official.
One year after being stunned by Matt Serra (Pictures), Quebec's favorite mixed martial arts son Georges St. Pierre (Pictures) meets the New York-based UFC welterweight champion for a second time.
Other scheduled bouts at the Bell Centre include a middleweight contest between former UFC champion Rich Franklin (Pictures) and TUF 4 winner Travis Lutter (Pictures). Michael Bisping (Pictures) makes his 185-pound debut versus Charles McCarthy (Pictures). Mac Danzig (Pictures) returns to action for the first time since winning TUF 6 to fight Mark Bocek (Pictures) in a lightweight fight.
