Carlos Diego Ferreira has taken the place of injured countryman Alan Patrick and will fight Beneil Dariush at UFC 179 in Brazil.

Ultimate Fighting Championship officials Tuesday announced the new bout. The pay-per-view event takes place at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro on Oct. 25 and features a featherweight title rematch between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.

Ferreira is coming off a “Fight of the Night” performance against Ramsey Nijem at UFC 177 in August. The 29-year-old is now 2-0 under the UFC banner with one knockout and one submission.

Dariush lost to the last man with whom Ferreira shared the Octagon, falling to Nijem via TKO at UFC Fight Night “Minotauro vs. Nelson.” The Kings MMA product bounced back on Aug. 23, defeating Tony Martin with an arm-triangle choke at UFC Fight Night “Henderson vs. dos Anjos.”
